FLUORIDE & CHLORINE: ARE THEY SERIOUS POISONS?
If they are now or in time proven to be serious poisons with culpable toxicity in drinking waters --- then who will be accountable as criminals for pushing these poisons/toxins onto innocent consumes of city provided drinking waters?
Given the recent widening of responsibility in NZ laws, including employment laws --- maybe those officers of councils deciding and/or responsible for these actions AND ALSO the persons actually pouring such alleged poisons into the drinking water supplies could each be charged with criminal acts and intent? Maybe also city councilors could be jointly charged?
Maybe some criminal court processes will start when a lay person files a criminal prosecution against such a person(s) working in or for councils or directing council affairs?
Accountability is in time a MUST.

"Chlorine (Cl2) is a major disinfectant that is cheap and kills most of the serious disease-causing bacteria in the water.
However, chlorine disinfection results in a wide variety of by-products. One class of chlorination by-products, known as trihalomethanes (THM's), are suspected carcinogens. Because of concern about these by-products in the water supply, chlorine is now kept to minimum levels, and other methods of disinfection are being used more frequently.
Chloramines form more stable disinfectants and pose less risk of harmful by-products, but cost more to use. Other methods focus on removing the organisms through coagulation, sedimentation, and improved filtration."
Water from your taps- do you know this can have Fluoride added in it’s processed and refined-waste state (yes, in many cases it is sourced from industries waste products, that they would have to pay high $ to dump elsewhere) and that this is said by many specialists also to be very negative to human and animal health, especially when the fluoride is sourced from the wastes of super phosphate refiners or aluminium smelters.

Don't think fluoride is easily removed...it does not taste, it cannot be seen in water by naked eye AND pitcher or faucet mounted water filters do NOT alter or remove fluoride says wikipedia; adding the more-expensive reverse osmosis ('RO') filters (if operating at full capacity) MAY remove about 65–95% (one expeet says RO filtering removes MUCH less than 65% of fluoride). WHAT TYPES OF FLUORIDE are most likely to be added to drinking water?

Of these industrial waste products as a source of fluorides, some might have many other heavy metals or pollutants unified as part of the fluoride package, and are generally called:
- Fluorosilicic acid or hydrofluosilicic (H2SiF6)
Fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) is commonly used for water fluoridation. This form of fluoride is a toxic liquid by-product, acquired by scrubbing the chimney stacks of phosphate fertilizer manufacture. Other names for it are hexafluorosilicic, hexafluosilicic, hydrofluosilicic, and silicofluoric acid. The CDC approximates that 95% of our (USA drinking) water is fluoridated with fluorosilicic acid. - OR Sodium Fluorosilicate (Na2SiF6)
Sodium Fluorosilicate (Na2SiF6) is primarily added to public drinking water as a fluoridation agent. It is the sodium salt of fluorosilicic acid. It is a powder or very fine crystal that is easier to ship than fluorosilicic acid. This same compound is also used as an insecticide and a wood preservative. It is a classified hazardous waste by-product of phosphate fertilizer manufacture which, if not put into our drinking water, must be disposed of at hazardous waste facilities. Other names for it are Sodium Fluosilicate and Sodium Silica Fluoride.
- OR Sodium fluoride (NaF)
Sodium Fluoride is used in most toothpastes, mouthwashes, dental varnish, dental preparations and nutritional supplements. This same form of fluoride is used as an insecticide and pesticide, as a preservative in glues, as a growth inhibitor for bacteria, fungi and mold. Sodium fluoride is also used in making steel and aluminum products. Added to molten metal, sodium fluoride creates a more uniform metal. Other industrial uses for sodium fluoride include glass frosting and wood preservatives. Sodium Fluoride is also used in the manufacture of chemical and biological weapons. Although this form of fluoride can be used for water fluoridation, the next two forms listed are almost always used due to cost.
- OR Stannous fluoride

- OR Calcium fluoride (CaF2)
Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) is compound of calcium and fluorine which occurs naturally as the mineral fluorite – also called fluorspar. Most of the world’s fluorine comes from calcium fluoride. Fluorides in general are toxic to humans, however CaF2 is considered the least toxic, and even relatively harmless due to its extreme insolubility. Moreover, calcium is a well-known antidote for fluoride poisoning. When an antidote exists in combination with a poison, it makes the poison far less toxic to the body. Calcium fluoride is the form of fluoride commonly found in natural, untreated waters.
You are entitled to ask your city water provider if fluoride is being used, and what type and where they get it from. Perhaps ask them why they are not using a naturally sourced calcium fluoride as their preferred fluoride additive?
- OR 1080 (sodium monofluoroacetate) ?

On his web site he quotes and states many disturbing matters about 1080. Some which could be relative to 1080 and fluoride in drinking water include:
"This poison is odourless and tasteless and therefore impossible to detect, there is no antidote and there are no medical tests capable of detecting this super poison in the body. This tonic phase is then followed by a clonic phase in which the victim lies and kicks or paddles with the limbs, screams, crawls around with eyes rolled back and grinding teeth, protruding tongue and, in male victims, erect penis. Breathing will be rapid and laboured and the victim may be partly choking on saliva. Then follows the terminal stage where the victim begins to breathe slowly and with limbs still extended dies of cardiac and/or respiratory arrest.
Sodium monofluoroacetate was first synthetically produced in 1896 by a Belgian scientist and, initially used as a contact/systemic pesticide (David 1950), was patented in 1927 (Twigg & King 1961).
However the chemical proved to be so toxic it was deemed too dangerous and in Belgium and other western European countries 1080 was withdrawn from the market and not been legally available since.
Sick animals head to water and when entering an area where a 1080 drop has occurred, it is common to find rotting carcasses of deer, possums, rats, stoats and native birds in streams and rivers. Rivers which in New Zealand are often the source of town and city water supplies.
1080 occludes (clings) vigorously to vegetation and wipes out aquatic, surface and sub-surface insects and worms. During aerial drops, bait dust laden with 1080 is carried for large distances in the air, settling onto trees, roofs, grass etc. and therefore can get into drinking water.
World authority Charles Eason (Landcare NZ) stated that 1080 is one of the world’s super toxins and needs to be treated with infinite care.
Apart from the previously mentioned properties 1080 is so poisonous that each pellet of bait is said to contain enough poison to kill up to six healthy adult humans. Since it does not break down in the body, there is a high risk of direct or secondary poisoning to non-target creatures.
The following is but one example of the many ecological and environmental disasters caused by the Department of Conservation. After one poison drop over Kapiti, DOC under public pressure released the following data referring to bird mortality:
10 - 20 per cent kiwi, 20 per cent kaka, 90 per cent weka, 50 per cent+ native robin, 90 per cent certain wren species (mohua, tomtit), 100 per cent fern birds and 27 per cent stitch birds.
As to the above figures DOC (Jenkins 2002) claims, for reasons obvious, that fernbirds are (not were) not found on Kapiti.
In 1999 a US EPA report stated that 1080 should not be used because there is inadequate safety data available to determine hazards to non-target fish, birds and mammals, and because of the absence of a validated analytical method with detection limits low enough to determine concentrations of the poison.
One DOC officer involved in aerial poisoning tried to justify the use of sodium monofluoroacetate by saying;
”You should be more worried about fluoride in your drinking water”.
"Little did he know that it is precisely fluoride that 1080 ultimately breaks down to in water and the question arises how much or how little of a fluoride concentration is acceptable in our water."

The Ministry of Health has constantly denied the fact that fluoridation chemicals are industrial waste products contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, arsenic and mercury. This contamination is allowed under an industry-set (not government-set) standard for fluoridation chemicals. A recent request to the Ministry of Health Oral Health division to have the actual source of fluoridation chemicals added to the government’s website fluoride facts has been denied. If the Ministry of Health is so proud of their much vaunted water fluoridation programme they seem awfully shy in sharing the actual details.
Like the ploy that Pacific Gas and Electric used to whitewash their chemical, the Ministry of Health say “All fluoride is the same – it is a common naturally occurring mineral. It is perfectly safe for everyone”, when its chemical action on the body is quite different, as shown by scientific research.
With the clear parallel between the actions of the Ministry of Health and Pacific Gas and Electric it is little wonder Brockovich has taken an interest in exposing yet another fraud putting the public’s health at risk for industry profit.
An independent public inquiry in the form of Fluoridegate hearings as Erin Brockovich suggests would be the way to shine light on the real fluoridation facts and expose the Ministry of Health and NZ Dental Association’s misinformation for what it is.'

In areas where water is fluoridated, patients should use spring water or distilled water for making soups, teas, and even for enemas....."

Why has Japan banned all toxic waste fluoride additions to its drinking water?
There is a ‘you tube’ video presenting Christopher Bryson about fluoride and the multiple pollution of people by USA industries. This man wrote a book called “The Fluoride Deception” which everyone should read who drinks tap water with fluoride added from industrial wastes. He also refers to a medical doctor whose name (Dr G. L. Waldbott) was tarnished because he did tests (and published these) which showed his clients illnesses were due to flouride added into drinking tap water. He reports how a leading researcher (Dr Phyllis Mullenix) was fired and sent to oblivion, because she demonstrated the neurotoxicity (negative effect on brain and IQ) of the flouride added to tap water. "The compound often used, hydrofluosilicic acid, is not pure fluoride but rather a smokestack waste product from fertilizer factories that is about 30% fluoride. It contains heavy metals, kerosene, benzene, radioactive substances and other toxins.
Adding smokestack waste to drinking water is, in the author's opinion, criminally insane. Anyone who drinks it is foolish and insane. The facts are available to anyone who cares to learn about them
The above web site gives 50 reasons why drinking water should not be flouridated.
Reason number 7 is that:
The level of flouride in mothers’ milk is very low. The level of fluoride in mother’s milk is remarkably low (0.004 ppm, NRC, 2006). This means that a bottle-fed baby consuming fluoridated water (which is usually added to drinking water at 0.6 – 1.2 ppm) can get up to 300 times more fluoride than a breast-fed baby.
Reason number 41 is that:
“The chemicals used to fluoridate water are not pharmaceutical grade. Instead, they largely come from the wet scrubbing systems of the phosphate fertilizer industry. These chemicals (90% of which are sodium fluorosilicate and fluorosilicic acid), are classified hazardous wastes contaminated with various impurities. Recent testing by the National Sanitation Foundation suggest that the levels of arsenic in these silicon fluorides are relatively high (up to 1.6 ppb after dilution into public water) and of potential concern (NSF 2000 and Wang 2000). Arsenic is a known human carcinogen for which there is no safe level. This one contaminant alone could be increasing cancer rates – and unnecessarily so.”
The above web site says fluoride is an ionic compound containing fluorine, which is the single most reactive element; it is naturally found in many rocks. (But when naturally in water from rocks it is usually at a low concentration).
About 90 percent of the fluoride added to public water supplies comes from silicofluorides, chemicals produced mainly as byproducts from the manufacture of phosphate fertilizers, according to the CDC (USA’s Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) .
Fluoride is added to public water supplies at an average concentration of about 1 part per million (1 ppm), or slightly below. Naturally occurring fluoride concentrations in surface waters depend on location but are generally low and usually do not exceed 0.3 ppm. Groundwater can contain higher levels. One study published in the fall of 2012 in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives found a link between high fluoride levels found naturally in drinking water in China and elsewhere in the world, and lower IQs in children. The paper looked at the results of 27 different studies, 26 of which found a link between high-fluoride drinking water and lower IQ.
The most comprehensive report on fluoride was published in 2006 by the National Research Council, done at the behest of the Environmental Protection Agency. That group found that the upper limit for fluoride, at 4 ppm, was too high to prevent a certain percentage of kids from developing severe dental fluorosis and recommended the EPA lower this limit. The agency has yet to change this limit.

The Environmental Defense Fund states that: “Although concentrations of these carcinogens (THMs) are low, it is precisely these low levels that cancer scientists believe are responsible for the majority of human cancers in the United States.”

Some researchers assert that a major reason for the drastic rise in heart disease in the early 20thcentury in Europe and America was the addition of chlorine to the drinking water. Chlorination of drinking water probably also contributes to cancer and other illnesses, as chlorine is so toxic.

The drawback of using chlorine in swimming pools is that the chlorine reacts with the proteins in human hair and skin. Once the chlorine reacts with the hair and skin, it becomes chemically bonded. Even most small water supplies are now routinely chlorinated.
It is often impractical to store and use poisonous chlorine gas for water treatment, so alternative methods of adding chlorine are used. These include hypochlorite solutions, which gradually release chlorine into the water, and other compounds. These compounds are stable while solid and may be used in powdered, granular, or tablet form. When added in small amounts to pool water or industrial water systems, the chlorine atoms hydrolyze from the rest of the molecule forming hypochlorous acid (HOCl), which acts as a general biocide, killing germs, micro-organisms, algae, and so on.”

Chlorine gas was used with deadly effectiveness as a weapon in the First World War. The gas would severely burn the lungs and other body tissues when inhaled, and is no less powerful when ingested by mouth, says Vanessa Lausch on her web site.
Another real challenge with chlorine in tap water, is if one is showering in a closed shower cabinet, then the chlorine coming from the tap water is not only entering the body via the tap water on the body, during the shower, but it is also creating a chlorine enclosed chamber, and one is then breathing in too much chlorine gas while showering. It IS NOT healthy breathing in that chlorine smell-gas one sometimes encounters in tap water. Remember chlorine gas has been used in war time as a killer gas.
CHLORINE DIOXIDE AS ALTERNATIVE TO CHLORINE
There is one city in USA which is using a much less damaging product than the S 5 poison chlorine to cleanse their drinking water; being a type of product called in some health circles as MMS. It is Sodium Chlorite mixed with Citric Acid, which transform into Chlorine Dioxide, and said by its proponents to be a safer additive to tap water that Chlorine itself. Chlorine Dioxide is said by some who work with it to be far kinder on a human body, as an additive to tap water, than is the S5 poison Chlorine. Here is some more information:

Watercare, the drinking water provider (and also the city sewerage disposer) for Auckland City it seems does not use 'chlorine dioxide' solution for cleansing some of its water --- but prefers to use a harsher disinfectant. One could validly ask why?

Lelord was some years back tagged as the America's number one authority on youthful vitality as one ages. He has written many books about heath and nutrition. In his book 'You're Younger Than You Think', he writes:
"Chlorine is another substance that works against Vitamin E. If it is contained in your drinking water it should be boiled out or allowed to evaporate."
Our Heartland Spring water is RAW, and ORGANIC and from a natural SPRING. There is no added chlorine nor added fluoride. Indeed there is no chlorine at all, and only a tiny tiny trace amount in micro quantity of fluoride, and this is a natural fluoride, not a man-made toxic fluoride. The trace amount of natural fluoride in our spring water (0.07mg/l) is over 10 times smaller in quantity than the 1mg/l some cities add (as a man-made toxic waste fluoride, not a natural fluoride from earth) to their tap water.
